HONORING THE WORKERS OF 9TH STREET

Hosted by Our Market, a community-centered public art revitalization project, the celebration debuted a powerful new 30-foot-tall mural by renowned artist Michelle Angela Ortiz. as well as light installations that highlighted community stories throughout the Market including radiating produce scales, glowing light boxes, a moveable illuminated push cart, and a large three-wall projection designed to bring the voices, resilience, and traditions of Market workers into the public space.

10th Floor Productions worked closely with the Our Market team to conceive of the aforementioned installations which included custom 3D printed scales with circular displays inside them along with 3D printed sculptures, led lights and sound. Also a battery powered pushcart with animated backlit printed plexiglass and a multi-projector set up for the outdoor space of Cafe Duskaia for people to stop, sit, watch and listen to the stories of business owners in the market while they sipped on some warm beverages.
